Notificator Is Now Live on WordPress.org

Today, 20 August 2026, Notificator reached one of its biggest public milestones: Notificator – Alerts & Notifications is now live in the official WordPress.org Plugin Directory.

Install Notificator from WordPress.org or search for Notificator – Alerts & Notifications from the Plugins screen inside WordPress.

The directory launch follows another important date for the project. On 10 August 2026, the Notificator mobile app became publicly available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Together, the official plugin and mobile app give people a much simpler route from a website event to an alert they can see and act on.

The WordPress Plugin is publicly available

The WordPress.org release makes Notificator easier to discover, install, update, and trust through the channel WordPress users already know.

The plugin can discover useful events from WordPress and supported plugins, turn those events into named notification rules, and keep an activity history inside the WordPress dashboard. Dashboard alerts can work without a Notificator account or API key.

People who want alerts beyond the dashboard can connect the plugin to the Notificator mobile app for push and optional email delivery. Compatible physical devices can receive the same alerts through a user-owned MQTT connection.

Notification configurations can also be exported and reused on other sites, making it easier to carry a tested setup between installations.

The plugin remains free and open source. The public directory release is available from the official WordPress.org listing, with additional setup help in the WordPress Plugin documentation.

The iOS app went live on 10 August

The Notificator mobile app became publicly available on the App Store on 10 August 2026. We published the detailed app release update shortly afterward, on 12 August.

The app provides the shared Notificator inbox, mobile push, optional account email alerts, API-key management, connected-device controls, firmware updates, and access to project news. People who choose not to allow push notifications can still use the remaining app and account features, then enable push later if they want it.

The Strapi extension is under review

The Notificator extension for Strapi is currently under review by the Strapi team for inclusion in the Community Extensions directory.

The extension lets Strapi administrators create named alert rules for content creation, updates, publishing, unpublishing, and deletion. Activity can remain visible inside the Strapi admin panel or continue to the Notificator inbox, mobile app, optional email delivery, and compatible devices.

The preview can already be installed from npm while the directory review is in progress. The Strapi extension page and setup guide explain the current installation and configuration process.

We will publish another update when the review is complete and the extension becomes available through the Strapi Community Extensions directory.

New Base and Touch firmware is coming

New firmware versions for both current Notificator devices are being prepared.

Notificator Base will continue to provide the compact, build-it-yourself notification experience for the ESP32-C3 reference hardware. Notificator Touch will continue expanding the larger touchscreen experience with alert history, clock and weather views, on-device controls, and a more visual interface.

The next releases will be published through the firmware repository and made available to compatible devices through the supported installer and update flow. We will share the exact versions and changes when the release builds are ready.

A third firmware for Matter devices

Base and Touch will soon be joined by a third firmware designed for the Notificator Matter device.

This model will move beyond displaying an alert. It will allow people to connect selected Notificator alerts to compatible smart devices in their home or office. A rule could, for example, turn on a Matter-compatible lamp or change its state when a chosen website or application event occurs.

The aim is to let each person decide which alerts deserve a physical action, while keeping ordinary notifications quiet and unobtrusive. The Matter firmware is still being prepared, so hardware compatibility, setup instructions, automation controls, and its first public version will be documented alongside the release.

A connected public project

These milestones bring the different parts of Notificator closer together:

• The Strapi extension is under review for the Community Extensions directory.
• Updated Base and Touch firmware releases are coming soon.
• A third Matter-focused firmware will connect alerts with compatible smart devices.

Thank you to everyone who tested early builds, connected devices, reported issues, reviewed documentation, and helped shape the project before these public releases. Notificator is becoming easier to install and more useful across software, phones, and physical spaces, while remaining free and open source.
